John's attachment to the guitar began around the time he was eight, when his uncle Lorenzo would drop by the house and play Hank Williams and Johnny Cash songs on his Silvertone.

By the time he was in grade eight, he was playing at church dances and school parties across Toronto in return for pop and cookies.

He has since had extensive employment and musical experience in Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country, Rhythm & Blues and Ethnic bands, having performed in theatres, recording studios and on television and radio as well as nightclubs across Canada and the USA. He is probably the only musician in the business who, during his career, has jammed with the DUKE ELLINGTON BAND and performed with TVO's POLKAROO.
